Sprouted in Peru and cultivated in Mexico, Piero Barandiarán has a background in international business and studies in economics and agroecology.
He is a partner and project director at Huerto Roma Verde, a biosocial regeneration laboratory, and at La Cuadra AC, an organization focused on consulting and developing hyperlocalism projects, designing productive projects with social and environmental impact, participatory design, socialization processes, public space, comprehensive waste management, composting, agroecological markets, green space design, urban gardens, and cultural management.
His notable involvements include: Selected for the Mexican Design Directory 2012 by PROMéxico, presented at MoMA New York; Speaker at the Global Social Economic Forum 2016, Montreal; Speaker at the International Forum on Urban Interventions (FIIU) 2018, Lima; Speaker at the Global Social Economic Forum 2018, Bilbao; Member of the Editorial Board for Culture at Reforma newspaper 2019; Member of the Council and Organizing Committee for the Global Social Economic Forum (GSEF) Mexico 2020; Nominated for the World Green City Awards 2024 in Utrecht, Netherlands.
