Lizzy Caston's work centers on equitable, sustainable and integrated urban, economic and community development planning, implementation, and program and project management with a focus on systems design, strategic partnerships, technology innovations and communications. She has worked for government, nonprofit, and private sectors with experience in large scale neighborhood and commercial district revitalization in Brownfields land regeneration, as well as DEI focused small business support with a specialty in food systems. Additional expertise includes placemaking, food justice, and arts and culture work as restorative community healing. She was the Executive Director of a Main Street historic Black and arts district in Portland, Oregon through Covid working in community stabilization and economic disaster response; a global Program manager for Nike working with Asia, Pacific, Latin America in community digital technology transformation; Director of the Getting Your Recipe to Market food entrepreneur program through Portland Community College/Oregon State University; Director of Techfest NW, and was a Project Manager at Prosper Portland (PDC), as well as doing work in New Orleans, LA doing neighborhood and commercial recovery post Katrina. She holds a Masters Degree in Urban and Regional Planning, and undergraduate degree in community development, and is a certified project manager.
