Harriet Crittenden LaMair

she/her
CEO,
High Line Canal Conservancy

Harriet’s early career included policy work in Washington, Alaska, the City of Anchorage, and the Colorado Legislature. She served as government relations director for the Colorado Department of High Education, was elected to the City Council, Denver Regional Council of Governments, Arapahoe County Open Space and Trails Board, co-founded a small land preserve, was a small business owner (floral design), and volunteers for a variety of nonprofits.

Today, Harriet is the co-founder and CEO of the High Line Canal Conservancy, a nonprofit dedicated to the preservation, protection, and enhancement of the historic 71-mile High Line Canal. Due in great part to the Conservancy’s engagement with thousands of passionate residents and successful $33M private campaign the over three quarters of the 860 acre Canal has been placed under a Conservancy held conservation easement and permanently protected and will experience over $100M in federal, state and local investments over the next 5 years.

Born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska with parents who were involved in everything from gaining statehood, to the design the street grid, she left for the lower 48 for education and graduated Colorado College and Harvard Graduate School of Education.
