Cornetta Lane-Smith is a dedicated community development practitioner and storyteller whose entire career has been devoted to serving Detroit. From mentoring youth in English and language arts with Americorps' City Year to leading storytelling initiatives such as Core City Stories, she has consistently worked to amplify the voices and experiences of Detroit residents. Now, as the director of community engagement at Michigan Central, she is continuing her mission to expand community access and connection. Her work exemplifies the power of storytelling in building strong, vibrant communities.
